  "To the extent that you did it to the least of these my brothers you did it to me."

  The GB apply these words to the anointed class, saying how much the other sheep should support the anointed by preaching etc.

  I used to work alongside a girl who was a Methodist and she'd been busy one weekend with her church supporting a local community cause. Anyway she was telling everyone about it on the Monday morning and she quoted the above words of Jesus, adding of course everyone who looks to the Father, Jesus has accepted as his brother. To her it wasn't about reinterpretating Jesus's words as picturing a "class", it was about taking them at face value.

  Simple as that.

  PS: I have always supported charities that help people and animals. I never understand JWs saying they won't give to worldly charities. I always took it to be a matter of conscience. Of course now I only give to charities doing good deeds and haven't donated anything to the WTS for several years now.

  Female Perspective about WTS, marital relationship & control

  despite my user name, am female.

  i was not born-in, began studying when i was around 20, am 50 damn years old now and have spent almost the last 30 years in that stupid religion.

  but here are some observations, make of them what you will.

  It's a great post you have put up here.

  I remember an elder at elders meetings (back when I was still there) who would bring up an issue affecting the congregation in his opinion.

  And I would say "how do you know that?"

  And he would say, "I heard about it."

  And someone else would say "who did you hear it from?"

  And he would say "it is unimportant where I heard it, we need to deal with this person, or issue."

  And I would jump in with "But is the person who repeated this to you a gossiper, are they even a reliable source of information?"

  And he would get all worked up, and say how we couldn't let this problem fester etc, etc.

  BECAUSE we all knew where he had heard it, it came from his wife! who definitely wore the pants in his home. But would he ever be honest and say "my wife told me about...." Of course not because that would make him look like he was not exercising his headship in the house.

  And besides even back then it felt really good to wind him up.

  The funny thing is that I recently heard that he is now the co-ordinator for his congregation, so I guess it's really his wife who is still directing things through him like a puppet on a string.

  Acronym with another meaning.

  i thought it strange because with the org's anti-gay rhetoric why would they be referring so much to the lgbt community.

  finally i reached the end of the article and waded through all the footnotes to discover that lgbt was shorthand for the book let god be true.

  I was reading one of the JW archive pages and I kept coming across the acronym LGBT.

  I thought it strange because with the Org's anti-gay rhetoric why would they be referring so much to the LGBT community.

  Finally I reached the end of the article and waded through all the footnotes to discover that LGBT was shorthand for the book Let God Be True.

  i was looking at some old pictures in a family photograph album of distant relatives engaged in the jw information marches of long ago.

  the slogan on the 1st placard read 'religion is a snare and a racket.'.

  doesn’t that aptly describe the wts?

  I was looking at some old pictures in a family photograph album of distant relatives engaged in the JW information marches of long ago. The slogan on the 1st placard read 'Religion is a snare and a racket.'

  Doesn’t that aptly describe the WTS? It has become over the years a financial racket. And it is a snare, because once you are in, you're trapped especially with the practice of shunning by family members.

  The other placard read 'Serve God and Christ the King.' which is what a Christian needs to do without the interference of the Org, especially since Christ has been relegated to the sidelines by the WTS.

  Smiddy`s Wedding Anniversary Today

  hi friends one and all i just thought i would let you know it`s our 57th wedding anniversary today .

  and we are setting off this morning for 3 nights in eden nsw i think it has more to offer than the one in genesis.. with a bit { or a lot } of luck we will make our fortune .

  Is Satan Real ?

  i've been pondering on this question for awhile now, and i'm starting to think this malevolent spirit creature isn't real.

  JWs all tell those scary stories about demons changing the colour of the publications to freak out witnesses who inadvertently call at the home of a spirit medium or similar.

  As a child on hearing these and similar unprovable tales I thought "Wow! Cool Trick. Why can't God do that it'd attract more people."

  I've done quite an extensive study into the black arts and even tried a ouija board, yet I have never encountered any issues with the dark side.

  I think history has always been a struggle of what one perceived as good versus what one perceived as evil. To explain why badness or goodness exists people created gods and devils.

  A pet peeve

  a pet peeve of mine is that there are numerous christian denominations (other faiths with their 'holy' books too), all claim that their interpretation of their 'holy' book is the correct interpretation.

  my conclusion is that either their god is a very poor communicator or simply doesn't exist.. i used to believe all this stuff when i was a jobo and later a church going christian.

  i simply cannot, in all honesty subscribe to it all any more.

  Your pet peeve is something I used to wonder about as well.

  WTS condemned everyone as stoopid except themselves. But you look at those other religious places where people are allowed to study in a university, and get to wondering how they are all wrong compared to 6,7,or 8 men from Brooklyn!

  And the WTS would reply that Satan has blinded their minds so as to stop the light getting in.

  Now you realise how much they are all tarred with the same brush including the WTS. In fact if God needed to get a message across would he really pick a group that everyone detests especially when they come unannounced to your house. If anything it would obscure His message further.

  It's just so pointless in the end.

  ie the Ten Commandments.

  "Thou shalt not kill." It was unacceptable to kill someone from your own tribe, but it was perfectly acceptable to brutally slaughter every Philistine or Canaanite you came into contact with because your god had told you to do it.

  As a book it does very little to draw me to a loving Deity. Quite the opposite in fact.

  i was listening hotel california and thought the last verse could be applied to any high control group.. last thing i remember, i wasrunning for the doori had to find the passage back to the place i was before'relax' said the night man'we are programmed to receiveyou can check out any time you likebut you can never leave!.

  at least you will now have a great song playing in your head all day.

  I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
  'Relax' said the night man
  'We are programmed to receive

  But you can never leave!
